I don’t know if you guys know this, but my baby turned 4-years-old this spring. Four. My mom heart can barely handle that fact. Since he’s a big kid now, he gets to go to VPK. (VPK is Voluntary Pre Kindergarten, a free program offered for all 4-year-olds in the state of Florida.) He’s never been to any type of preschool before, so I was nervous. We are pretty sure we will homeschool him for kindergarten, but decided preschool could be a fun option for him this year no matter what we decide about next year.
He had no issue walking into a classroom of strangers. He loved it. Mr Social Butterfly. However, on the fifth consecutive day of school he decided to have a meltdown and Mike ended up bringing him home. Not sure how it is that he had no problems for four days and then decided to have a hard time, but I think we’ve worked through it. No issues so far this week. Well, there was one little issue today where instead of getting green for his behavior he got yellow. At least it wasn’t red? Keeping your hands to yourself is hard apparently.
Little Sister is also at preschool these days. I wish I could show you her First Day photo, because she’s pretty cute.
His favorite breakfast to start the day.
My handsome school kid. That face, those big blue eyes. This guy has his momma’s heart.
I was nice and got him a backpack he would like instead of one I would think is cute. He was appreciative.
Love this sweet boy and keeping my fingers crossed that we have a great school year.
