Hard to believe that another birthday has come & gone. My sweet boy is three & we had a great time celebrating this weekend. On his actual birthday, we let him decide where he wanted to go for dinner, and shockingly, he chose Chick-fil-A. That’s actually not shocking at all. He also requested Twistee Treat, so of course we obliged. I’m not one to let him indulge on junk very often, but birthdays are a bit of an exception.
Before we headed out for all the treats, we did his annual birthday photo. Look at that big boy! Not much baby left there.
I love comparing how much he’s changed & grown. I like that the front door behind him changed this year too. Last year the house was for sale as you can see by the lock box on the door, and this year we celebrated his birthday in our new home.
Getting ready to leave the house with the birthday boy.
At Chick-bil-A as Lincoln calls it.
The next day was his party. Like just about every kid his age, he’s super into trains. So we went with a train theme this year. He was all about it.
Thanks for the cute chalkboard drawing, Steph! She pretty much walked in the door after being on the road for two days, and I handed her chalk & said get to work.
“Train tracks” on the tables.
The kids got engineer hats when they arrived….some adults enjoyed them as well.
I’ve always made Lincoln’s birthday cake, but this year was enough to make me wish I had hired a baker. I was running out of time & in a hurry, and as a result, this cake is not my best work. It’s kind of ugly. But Lincoln liked it anyways, so that’s what counts.
The main attraction was a little trackless train I found that would come to your house and give train rides. The kids LOVED it. Definitely worth it to see them all having so much fun!
Super huge thanks to Caimbrin for coming over early and helping me soooo much with this party. Food prep for 50 people is no joke. Couldn’t have kept my sanity without her help.
He was so excited about gifts this year. Much more than previous years. He actually met one of our guests and the door and immediately opened the gift in her hand. Oops. Need to work on manners.
See what I mean? A little excited.
His face when he saw his new ride.
Thanks to all my momma friends & our family for pitching in for this. He’s a little obsessed.
Evie partying hard.
So thankful for friends that load their family up and drive 14 hours just to spend time together.
I think he enjoyed dessert.
Thanks so very much to everyone who came to celebrate our little guy with us. He is truly so lucky to have the kind of family & friends that he has. There’s no shortage of love & friendship in his life!
The party was super cute and fun. SOOOO glad I could make it this year. He’s turning into quite the character. You’re doing a great job with him. He’s hard, I know, but so sweet. I can tell such a huge in how he listens to you from last year… you’re getting there!!!
