The Other Side of the Camera

I hate being on the other side of the camera. So much stress. What do we wear? Will my 18-month-old cooperate? (No) Where should we take the photos? Will my hair look good today? I’ve said it before, but I guess it’s good for me to experience this sometimes so I know how my clients are feeling!

Lincoln is my nightmare client. I’m not sure I’ve ever had a client as uncooperative as he is for photos. He’s wild and has no interest in performing for the camera. Most moms can give their kids little treats in between photos to keep them happy, but what does Lincoln do? He decided a fruit snack in between shots wasn’t good enough, and just proceeded to cry until we gave him more. Fail. Thankfully, Ashley is a good sport and has lots of patience with us. And his Aunt Caimbrin helped out too by standing behind Ashley and acting crazy.

One of the perks of being a photographer is having photographer friends. Ashley is not only an amazing photographer, but one of my closest friends. At least that helps my nerves during the session, because I know she already knows we’re crazy and loves us anyways. Thanks, Ashley! I’d say you did well considering what you had to work with. Maybe one day Lincoln will be a good little model, but I’m not holding my breath.

  1. You look stunning!! Your hair is so cute like that. The one of Lincoln and Mike w the guitar melts my heart. And I love the ones of just you and Mike. So so good.
