A while back, I saw an adorable kid’s photo on Pinterest, and decided I’d like to try it with Lincoln. The mom did a “themed” photo of each of her kids to show what their interests were at that age. The example I saw was a 5 year old boy wearing swimming trunks & goggles. There was text on the photo that said his age and listed his favorite things. When I first saw it, I was afraid Lincoln wouldn’t have any interests at age 1. Well, then the dog obsession began, and I knew we had our theme. So we headed off to downtown yesterday with the two dogs in tow, and here’s what we came up with.
Not as perfect as the example I saw online, but I like it. My idea is that once we have a few years, I’ll frame them and start a collage in his bedroom. Won’t that be fun? And once we have more kids, it can be a yearly tradition for everyone.
By the way, lest you think the three of them made this photo easy on me, let me explain. Everyone wanted to go in different directions. Blondie is deathly afraid of cameras, so she wouldn’t look at me. Peanut just wanted to run off & chase the cars. Lincoln wanted to crawl through the parking lot. Oh, and the dog ears? Well, there was one frame where they were on his head. The other frames, he’s throwing them at me or they’re not on at all. So this is a composite image. Blondie’s best face, Peanut’s best face moved onto the image with Lincoln’s best face, and then the ears brought in from another frame. Thank God for Photoshop.
Tomorrow is the big day. My baby boy’s first birthday. Our house is filled with ongoing craft projects trying to get ready for his party this weekend. My table is covered in felt mustaches and paper neck ties. I’m pretty sure there won’t be enough hours in this week!
